Are you anxious? Your only 5 weeks pregnant you have a while to go. Take a warm bath before bed. That helped me. If you cant sleep ask the doc and try benadryl. It is the same ingredient as OTC sleep meds and generally safe during pregnancy but you must ask you doctor. Ive heard of pregnant women taking prescription sleep aids but its up to you and your doctor. Good Luck and congrats!!!!

I still have trouble and I'm 23 weeks..it's gonna last a while, unfortunately. I've had to buy new pillows, some soft and some firm, because it appears that my body doesn't want the same type of pillow every night. I've also had to sleep with a pillow under my legs or between them, and one wedged behind my back at times. You should probably think of investing in a body pillow if this doesn't work. Of course, if you're simply up nights excited about the baby, then I can't help you there....

I don't remember what a good night sleep is like, I am 34 weeks and have to go to the bathroom multiple times throughout the night and can never get comfortable. That is just one of the lovely things about being pregnant!

I did, and I'm sorry, but there isn't much you can do. Its the hormones. If it is unbearable you can talk to your doctor about perscribing something, but I try to stay away from putting any meds in my body that I don't have too. On the upside, my body has gotten more used to the hormones, and I am sleeping better though not as good as I would like.

I'm 29wks and i can't sleep comfortably either.. i walk around all day so exhausted i could cry! lol.

For comfort factor (in my early pregnancy) i got a body pillow. It really helped - it curved to my body, i had one part supporting my neck and the other part between my knees (i don't know why but once i got pregnancy having a pillow between my knees became my preference... strange! lol).

Sadly at 29wks the pillow doesn't help... i'm resigning myself to the fact that i just won't get sleep! lol.

Good luck to you and congrats.

I had the same problem. i picked up a good book. Inevitably you will fall asleep on a good book or a television show that you are interested in. Warm milk also helps.

Sorry hun. You won't get a full night's sleep again until your little one is sleeping through the night.
