Unfortunately this is a common pregnancy symptom. Try eating smaller meals or snacking throughout the day. Some good things to try to ease heartburn are papaya, either the fresh fruit or the chewable tablets; raw almonds, not smoked or roasted, you can find them in the baking section; raw milk or whole milk before you eat a meal. You will probably not be able to get rid of it completely, but these can at least ease some of the discomfort. Personally I stayed away from Tums and things like that because it has a differnt kind of calcium in it and it can actually make matters worse, therefore needing more and more to relieve symptoms. Good luck!!

I have the same problems that sometimes it hurts so bad I think something else is wrong. I talked to my ob and he prescribed zantac prescription and I take tums. He also prescribed a prenatal called Icar that comes with a type of antacid with it. They also work great. Another thing is diet. Eat small meals through out the day and watch what types of food, like mexican or acidic foods.

You can take tums. My mom just told me to try ginger, because that seemed to help with her indigestion and sea sickness when she went on a cruise last week. She said something about it being a powder that they added to all of their drinks and if she was starting to feel sick or indigestion, she would just get another drink and add some ginger. MAGIC!!! I know they suggest ginger to relieve morning sickness, but i really hadn't thought about trying it myself, now, knowing someone who has actually benefitted from it, i think i'm going to go out and get some!

She will need antibiotics. Have you seen a vet yet? You may want to put a hot pad in her bed. If she lays her ear on it, it will help with the pain. You can also give your dog one 81mg low dose aspirin or one baby aspirin once every 12 hours. But, an ear infection without antibiotics will not clear up on it's own. It will only get worse and spread. If it's a puppy, don't give the aspirin without checking with your vet first. If it's an adult dog, it's fine. My dog is 17 pounds and he takes one aspirin every 12 hours for arthritis.

You can take tums, or Riopan. My doctor put me on zantac. It only gets worse along the way. Also I suggest you have your gall bladder checked.. it could be the problem as well. I used riopan with my 1st pregnancy it worked really well.. it is just hard to find. Zantac helps well too. I found that tums is only temporary. Good luck.

I am also pregnant. Even when I'm not pregnant I have to take prescription medicine for acid-reflux. My doctor recommends that I continue to take my medicine, she says I will be miserable without it. Take tums or crackers. If it doesn't go away, talk to your doctor and get some over the counter medicine. Good luck!
