I have a 2 GB kingmax flash usb and I downloaded a program from here:

www.openflashdrive.com

the ones that say:

Security Tool for Window
UT_Format&Lock_Manual-v2.pdf (110 KB)
FORMAT.EXE (680 KB)
LOCK.EXE (276 KB)

However when I open the format.exe with my usb in, it says no flash usb disk attached! But it is attatched because i can access it through my computer and add or remove files. what's wrong?

You may need to click the drop down arrow at the top of the USB Flash Disk Format tool and change it to the USB drive letter. The software may not be compatible with your flash drive. Have you tried the Kingmax utility available here: http://www.kingmaxdigi.com/product/ssformatv30110.rar ?
You could use windows to format the drive.
