it can be worth while if your selling the right stuff, and if you get it cheaply enough. You also have to price things correctly. Say if you have an item you want $50 for, if you list it at $50, a lot of the time you will get no bids, but if you start the bidding at a lower amount, even 99c, you may well end up getting $60 for it. I start all my listings at 99c, and there hasn't been one item I didn't sell, and not one that I didn't get what I wanted for it. So it could be that your starting your listings too high, or it could be that your trying to sell items that nobodys interested in. If your wanting to run a business on eBay, research the popular items, see what people are buying, and then find out how to get your hands on it cheaply. If your just cleaing out your wardrobe, and getting rid of some old stuff, then either go down in proce, or try to sell it elsewhere. People shop on eBay to get themselves a bargain, or to buy hard to find items, if your isn't one of them, it may not sell.

I don't sell on ebay yet but I understand that if you know what you are doing and pursue it as a business and do everything you can to learn and increase you knowledge, as with anything, it can be worth it from a monetary point of veiw. Is it worth all the effort involved? That's a personal evaluation you have to make. It can either be a hobby where you make a few bucks or it can be a life changing experience where you have the potential to make your living selling on ebay. You may want to check this out, found it very interesting.

Like others that have answered, I have tried to sell a few things on eBay and found that there is large amount of competition out there. Either my items did not sell or sold for what I could have expected at a garage sale.
I gave up on my dreams of selling on eBay to replace my income and instead started looking to own a small business.
My wife and I partnered with an International company. The investment was small and carries a 100% money back guarantee. It allows us to work our own hours in several different countries.
Email me for more information.

I have only just sold on ebay for the first time in the last few weeks. I have been selling books - they would just be sitting around accumulating dust otherwise so i am happy to have made a few bucks back on them.
I am on maternity leave waiting for a baby to arrive so it is certainly keeping me entertained in the meantime - i am finding the whole selling thing addictive.
I think the fee's to list shoudl be lower if items dont sell but i see your point. I am going to try to manage my paypal withdrawals so i dont have to pay so much.
Would love to know what you have e

I agree with that. And I also thought it was a lot of aggrivation. And it's not really good if you don't get the merchandise you paid for...and the worse thing that can happen is you give that person a bad rating. You've already spend your money and have nothing to show for it.

Yes it is... if you have something of value to sell. Many people make a lot of money on eBay, but they work hard at developing their businesses, and have items of value to offer to people who are willing to pay for them.
