i am 16 weeks pregnant so i am wary of certain herbs that i know would otherwise be helpful, my sister suggested vicks vapo rub but i was not sure if it would affect the baby, i really want to stay as close to natural ingredients as possible, any ideas?

Crush up some mint leaves, and then add steamed water, inhale. Awakens the senses.

Take a bath and add some salt water, this gives purity.

Warm towel of your nasal passage, and on the chest, loosens muecus linings.

Drink tea, mint teat is usually good, or honey lemon, DECAF, this will help soothe and open the body.

Congrats on the pregnancy by the way =]

The most natural thing to do for a stuffy nose is to breathe in cool air. Just stick your head into the freezer and breathe the cold air for about 10-15 minutes. Works well with infants with stuffy noses too. Also, instead of Vick's rub, use Vick's vapor bath when you take a shower. Also works well with infants.

this will provide temporary relief. run really hot water into your sink and put a towel over your head. try to contain as much steam as possible and breathe deeply. that should help a little.

Steam with a towel over your head. Works great for your pores too.

Run your bathroom shower hot and sit on the toilet while the steam fills the room. It helps! They recommend you do this for babies too!
Or chew some strong gum or halls. It helps!

vick's vapor won't hurt the baby. and you don't need to rub it on. just inhale from the jar... LoL!

You can also use Hall's mentho-lyptus.

And, you can always ask your local pharmacist.
