okay first of all, do you have a router or a hub??, and second you have to install your ip protocol in the network properties, on both computers if that doesn't work set both computers to a certain ip address, then restart both computers and once you can go to workgroup computers and see both computers then your good to go, make sure both computers have the same OS to.
