so i finally got over my shyness and am trying to hook up a first date with this guy. Here are my choices, he can come over and we can have a few drinks at the pool in my apartment complex, or we could go to the movies. What do u suggest? i have to take initiative because he's shy but i am too so... what do u suggest?

well it depends.. since your both shy than a movie might be nice for the first date so there isn't much chat going on but if you really want to get to know each other than go for the drinks at the pool in your apartment complex. hope this helps =)

A movie is usually a bad first date choice. Your goal is to learn about that person and find connections, which you can't do in a theater. Drinks at the pool sound like a plan. If you are shy, alcohol may be grease the wheels of conversation.

go to the movies,it is always best to have first dates in a public place just until the trust level is secure,but since you cant talk much in a theatre,get a snack/desert afterwards
unless of coarse you to are already friends then hang out at the pool but don't drink alcohol it may may you do something you will regret.

I can pretty much guarantee that if you go for the drinks by the pool option, one or both of you will lose your inhabitions and be much less shy. This might be fun. But, ask yourself, how well do you know him, etc.
Maybe go to the movies and THEN go for drinks by the pool. Or, if you don't have to drive (public transportation) have drinks first, swim, go to movies, continue drinking...lots of choices.

definetly go to the movie, your apartment might be a bit too forward for a first date. plus, it'll probably be really awkward the whole time.

Movies, pick a funny one and or ask him what he's been wanting to see. Then go get a drink or a coffee at IHOP afterwards.
