Mary ... The name of the appropriate office in each municipality for birth records is different. However, you must visit the appropriate office for the city in which you were born. It may be called "bureau of records" or "birth records office" or something entirely different.

If you're presently living in a different town/city and visiting the town of your birth is inconvenient, visit their web site instead. Just go to Yahoo or Google search and look for "town name, state" and limit your search to web sites with the ".gov" domain. THIS is the best way to search for the official web site for the city in which you were born. Then look through that page for info on the birth records office. Call or write to them and usually the whole thing can be handled through the mail or perhaps even over the phone.

Good luck, Mary.

Go to the Health Department in the county that you were born in. I think that is the only way to get them. Only way I know of anyways. If you live far from it, call them and ask them how you can get it.
