I'd say that most people in the world do not watch General Hospital. It's a good name. It's spunky. I also agree that if you're not sure, give her options. . . name her Carla or Carol or Caroline and nickname her Carly. I've seen a lot of Karlis with a K as well.

I nice little girl who might have been named after a guy in the family. I like the name carly, but it's a little too close to Carl. Let Carly be the nick name, and the actual name be Carol or something like that. It is a nice name though. Good luck and God bless!

Reminds me of Carly Corinthos on General Hospital. She's a conniving, lying, little witch for the most part. I knew one Carly in real life and she was pretty much the same.
Sorry not trying to discourage you, but personally I don't care for the name.

It makes me think of a character on General Hospital. She is sometimes a B**ch, but she always stands up for herself and her loved ones. She is strong and smart. So, that is what the name makes me think of. ;) Hope this helps?!?!
