The United States opened its arms to my parents/grandparents/aunts/uncles. They were given an opportunity to build a life here that they would not have been able to enjoy in Finland. I LOVE America. This is the greatest country in the world. We have freedoms and opportunities that others around the world cannot understand I have been to over 30 countries and none of them can compare to the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. I believe the 'hatred' that many of other countries have for America is nothing more than JEALOUSY because their country does not afford them what our country does us. I spent 20 years ready to give my life if necessary to protect this country and I've been retired over 21 years and would stand up to protect this country now and until I could no longer physically respond to attacks on our way of life.
If you don't think America is the greatest country in the world, explain to me why people sneak across our borders to live and work here. Explain to me why people have died and still die tryig to get to our shores. And if you don't think they are dying trying to get here, you need to get your head outta your hind parts and put away your video games and open your eyes.
AMERICA! AMERICA! GOD SHED HIS GRACE ON THEE
AND CROWN THY GOOD WITH BROTHERHOOD
FROM SEA TO SHINING SEA!
GOD, BLESS AMERICA!
Now, if that offends someone...go pound sand! I really don't care if you ARE offended.

We are still the greatest!!! This is the reason many
countries do not like us as they are jealous of US being
the world power. If you live here and don't like it, I will
help fund you a one-way ticket to Africa, Syria, Indonesia,
etc. I know this war is controversial, but it's not the first
war we've ever been in (in case you're too young to know).
Maybe with a little support from it's citizens, we could even
WIN this war. Imagine a ballgame with all it's fans booing.

All the people everywhere on earth would rather live in the United States. No one is trying to leave. Everyone is trying to invade.
Except the media and movie stars. They'd rather live in Paris, where they can look out on the beauty of the nightly car bonfires and sip Australian wine.

Awesome. But in our colonial times many have written something like this."This type of government can only be well served by a moral people. Once a people stop becoming moral, the government that they put in power will have to force its morality onto the people. Whatever that morality is." (PC?) I love America but it scares me to think of her future. The path she is on socially, morally, idealogically looks destuctive to me. And I do not mean "The War"

OldeSalt gets my vote for best answer. It's to bad I can only give one thumbs up for it instead of a couple of thousand. Ask yourself how many tunnels were dug under the Berlin wall to escape into commnist Russia.

I like it here. Liberals hate it and wish we were France. Conservatives want to turn it into a giant Sunday school room.
The balance is facinating to watch unfold.
