The question is:

What is the probability that a carrier and a person who has a sex-linked genetic disorder willhave a son with the disorder? A daughter? Use a Punnett square to answer these questions.

I'm guessing the carrier is a carrier of the sex-linked genetic disorder.

So how do I do this?

The sex-linked disorder is on the X. It has to be a recessive disorder for carriers to be possible.

So the allele for the disorder is b and the normal alleles is B.

Mom is a carrier XB Xb Dad has the disorder Xb Y

Put the gametes from these parents on a Punnett square.

Sons will turn out to be XB Y or Xb Y which is 1/2 chance of having the disorder.

Daughters will turn out to be XB Xb or Xb Xb which is 1/2 chance of having the disorder, as well.

the punett square would look kinda like this i think t t
T Tt Tt
t tt tt
but like i said i THINK im not sure but this is what im working on right nowand we would say the lower case is the sex-linked disease so it would be a 50% chance the daughter will get it and a 100% chance the son would get it (aww too bad) so dont hold me accountable if im wrong but i think this is right
