try metacrawler.com and do a search for audio.
if you find a site with embedded music, use Firefox with the unplug, download embedded, and/or download helper extension. Or download Audacity and record directly to your PC.

iMesh is awsome but only download the songs with the Green disk beside them and not the Yellow ones because the yellow ones have a DRM protection and the Green ones are Peer TO Peer based. iMesh gives you other then searching for songs, "Discover" where you can discover music from there media files which is over 1,000,000 songs which you can buy (but you'll only be downloading the Green ones that you don't have to pay for and can transter to your ipod), and "People" that is a people profile and chat. people post pictures that you can see.
There is always the Torrent programs we have all grown to love.
Check my blog, "The Torrent download starter Kit" @ "Jonathan's Space"msn. This was an IM to a friend that i saved and posted to help others.

I hate limewire. Slows my computer which is usually fast to the speed of a snail. You can try these sites....

www.mp3-center.org
www.mp3000.net
www.esnips.com
www.seekasong.com
www.yourmp3.net

They have all types of songs so you might find some songs you want but not all. When that happens, I just beg my friends who have limewire to donwload the songs for me and then email them to me. You could do that too. =D

Here is a good site that reviews several ipod download services:

I don't think any are free, but some only have a small 1-time fee and let you download music and videos.

I would say a p2p program would be the best, but many have a lot of viruses so be carefull. i have heard morphious( dont know if spelled right) was good, but i use limewire or bearshare. just got to Oldversion.com and you can get almost every P2P program for free and describes them for you so its fairly simple.

Try Morpheus.

You'll find heaps of great downloads with this program, but be warned that it's full of advertising.

I don't know the exact website address - a quick Yahoo search should track it down for you.
