You can't connect to any itunes with any other Ipod. The best way is getting an External Harddrive and putting both of your music on it together for your ipods. I know its a pain in the *** I went through the same thing.

Yes you can. With the recent iTunes update like a couple months ago, it allows you to add song from somebody Else's iTunes to your iPod.

All you do is plug it in to your Girlfriend's computer, click the song or songs if you want to add more than one, and drag it to your iPod icon on the left side menu, then wait for it to stop updating.

Important!:
Don't sync your iPod with your Girlfriend's iTunes, or yours, until you go back to your iTunes. Which you would then click the same songs you added to your iPod, drag them from your iPod list to your Library icon on the left side, and wait for it to finnish updating.
