Yes. Heres the explantion. Cingular Wireless bought AT&T Wireless in 2004. The major parent company of Cingular is SBC, which bought the original AT&T. However, SBC took on the AT&T name (at&t) for credibility. at&t (SBC) wanted to create a uniform product identity so they changed Cingular's name to at&t also. Same company different name,

UH....
that's called marketing HYPE. if you check your recent history, AT&T wireless was a collaboration b/w AT&T and SBC, SBC bought thier interest of T wireless and the renamed it to Cingular and formed a partnership w/ BellSouth. THEN SBC bought AT&T and renamed the company back to AT&T, that company just bought Bell South thus creating a full circle effect in that the two companies that created Cingular before selling it off now own it again. so NO..Cingular is NOT changing their name. The company that bought the company that owns the biggest stake in Cingular is renaming it back to the name it originally had in 1999.
