If you're both in HS, I'm guessing that he's 18 and you're 14.

1) Right now you don't need to be with someone who's 4 years older. Wait until you're 18 THEN start a relationship. Right now you two have little in common.

2) Your mom is worried about you. You're her little girl. Some guy who is MUCH more socially and sexually advanced is dating her little girl. She trusts you but not him. Do you see why she's concerned.

3) Talk to her and explain that you are NOT having sex and do not plan on having sex. If you are having sex, you need to talk to her about getting birth control unless you and your mom want to be a parent and grandparent soon. But really just talk AND LISTEN to her. Don't just think that she doesn't want to see you happy. You know that's not true. Keep the tone low and listen.

You left out an important fact: your age. If you are 14, then he is 18. If you are 15, then he is 19... etc., Doesn't look good so far because if you are 16, then he is 20 and still in high school! Your mom has a good reason to flip out - it's not the 4 years difference, it's what the ages are.
Listen to your mom. She's onto something here.

Well if he's 4 years older than you and you guys have sex then that's statutory rape and he can go to jail since he is an adult and you are a minor. Yes he can go to jail if your mom presses charges against him. You are too young to consent to sex and that is why your mother doesn't want you to be with him and because you might get pregnant by him and he won't be there to take care of the baby with you. In my opinion you are to young to be dating. You should wait until you are like 16 or 17 years old to start dating. He is only with you for the sex as that is usually the only thing on guys minds at that age. He can get you in a lot of trouble. Also when you decide to date again you should find someone your own age. And the cops will not care about you not pressing charges against him. He can go to jail for a long time and will have to register as a sex offender if your mom presses charges. Your mom knows how boys are like and she doesn't want to see anything happen to you. So you should listen to your mother and break up with him.

Hey....im 18 and i know how u feel ,ive been through all this with my mom,but believe me when i say whatever she's doing is for your own good...i know how this sounds but your'e gonna understand as you go through life. She is your mom and im sure she wants only what is best for you.As difficult as it might be i think you should listen to her because she probably has a good reason as to why she doesnt like your bf.Right now it might seem the purpose of her life is to make yours miserable, but in the future youre gonna love her for what she's doing/saying ...so instead of regretting anything i think it would be best to listen to her.Like i said, she has her reason.Shes older than you and she has more experiences so she knows what shes talking about...you might want to make your own mistakes and have experiences of your own and i bet you see no sense in what she tells you.......i REALLY advise you to listen to her....
best of luck with whatever dicision you chose to make....but give what i said some thought.
How old are you anyway??

how old are you?
she may be afraid that youmay be too young for him and he may be trying to talk youinto things that she may feel that you are not prepared for...try to sit down and have an honest and friendly discussion with her...she can air out her laundry and you can yours...maybe you can come to some kind of agreement...
she may also just have heard info that is not correct and she just needs to be told the facts...
one thing to remember: if he is over 18 and you are under 18 and you both are having intercourse, he is a sex offender in all 50 states and if he gets caught, he could spend the better part of his life in prison...
good luck

I can't blame her. Sorry to say that but if my little sis was dating a guy that was 18 when she was 14 (I am assuming since you are both in high school), I would do everything in my power to break up the relationship.

Be happy your mom cares.

At your age, 4 years is like 20 years. Your mom doesn't want you to become a teenage mother.

If you are both in high school and you're 4 years apart, he would be 18, and you would be 14.

I'd get in the way, too.

Creepy.

You didn't put your ages down. I'm betting that's the key. Stop being a baby and listen to your mother. She's there to keep you from f***ing up your life.
