How do you check a power source for a desktop computer?

My son has an old gateway computer . When he turns it on, the power light comes on, but nothing else happens.

I have removed the power source, and it seems like the fan is locked up.

There are NO serviceable parts in a PSU, buy a new one.
Better still, buy your son a new computer, you skinflint....lol
