All the right answers are here already, any emotion can be damaging, but any emotion "unexpressed" or "expressed" in inappropriate ways can be dangerous. All emotion deserves expression it is learning what is appropriate or not, and that, a lot of times, depends on perception and is really hard to judge or measure. If it hurts us or others and we can't control it in some ways then it is damaging. If drugs make it so that we can't control it for ourselves then that is dangerous.

All emotions are good. All emotions are bad. Both of my preious sentences are correct.

It is not an emotion that is or is not damaging it is what you do with the emotion....

Fear... allow it to consume you, paralyse you, make you cower in the corner and it is damaging.... harness that fear and allow it to be the driving force to make you stand up to an injustice, to right a wrong, to get things done and it is a powerful positive force that fixs things...

Anger... allow it to consume you, make your gut boil and your head fill with angry thoughts and it is a damaging emotion..... harness that anger and direct its energy towards making useful positive changes in your life or your environment and it is a wonderful force that has driven you to do good...

Jealousy.... same as above.... allow the emotion to consume you and it becomes very damaging.... harness its energy to make positive changes and wellah what could have been a nasty event has become a driving force for good...

Happiness is the most damaging emotion. Happiness leds to loss of common sense, leds to loss of objective, leads to loss of direction. When a person is happy, nothing else matters.

Despair - I think it is at the root of a lot of other damaging emotions (anger, fear, hate). It is the lack of or giving up of hope. If you have hope and believe in hope, you will not fear or be depressed, or come quick to anger and hate

envy which is a type of hate which turns into anger. The reason why we are all in the material world is because we envied Gods position. So He said knock yourself out just try to be Me. So we came here to try to create and enjoy, but it always ends in disappointment, and ultimate dissatisfaction and finally death. This world is just illusion (Maya) and is full of suffering. We have to reconnect with our Maker (also known as Krishna, Allah, Vishnu, Jehovah, etc. to be happy and finally return to our original home. Otherwise we will continue to take birth in the material world and accumulate Karma (reactions to our actions) and die. The quickest way to get rid of all anger, envy, and all impurities of the heart and mind is to chant the Maha Mantra (the great mantra for deliverance from suffering and illusion. Go to harekrishnatemple.c for all details. Read Bhagavad Gita as it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada Which gives the meaning and purpose to life.

Wow I can think of a few off the top of my head, because any emotion that's out of balance or in abundance can seriously reak havoc.
Jealousy, sadness, depression, love, any emotion can be damaging.

I'm going to say LOVE only because it seems to pull people down to the lowest form of sadness when things aren't going well in matters of the heart.
