RE:
Glass in my toilet bowl!! How can I get it out?
Ok, well long story short I dropped a glass bottle of bath oil and it landed right in my toilet. So now I have a bunch of broken glass in my toilet. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get it out without tearing my hands to shreds?! I don't have any gloves or a [working] wet-vac.
I...

turn the water to the toilet off, there should be a valve on the wall or floor on the left side of the toilet. after you turn the water off flush the toilet and hold the handle down until the water stops from the tank. take a sponge and soak up the water in the toilet bowl, this should make it easier to see the glass, use a washcloth, rag whatever and get the glass out.
if the pieces are small it won't hurt anything to leave them be and maybe they'll wash themselves out with normal use, but I do recommend getting the big pieces out.

Use a wet/dry vac and just vacuum out the water, and the glass pieces should come out with the water. If you do not own one, you can ask some of your friends and neighbors if you can borrow one. You can probably rent one at a home center such as Lowe's or Home Depot. This is a good reason to keep the toilet lid closed. Good luck and have a good night.

if you turn off the water supply to your toilet and then flush. It will be empty then you can at least deal with the glass with a normal
vac. It is not going to kill a normal vac to suck up a small amount
of water. But once you get the water out of the bowl then it should be no big deal. The really small stuff just flush down.

I think I could lick the toilet bowl for two minute even though that would be really disgusting. But I know that if I knew I was drinking toilet water I wouldnt be able to keep it down, or even get it to go down for that matter

the best way i can think of is turn of the main water supply and somehow get the water out ,if you have these new vacume cleaners you can suck it out, the drier it gets the easier it is to suck it out,
a lot depends on the type of toilet ,the design .a plumber can disconnect it and turn it upside down to get the glass out .or is the pieces are small put the hose pipe in and blow it down into the drainage system with water
good luck
put on rubber gloves and see if you can remove the bigger pieces
a novel way may be a ball of kiddies playdough on a stick and press it onto the glass ,which will get embedded and so pull it out

Well, your gonna have to use your hand bare then if you don't have any gloves. Just go slowly and get a piece at a time. Eventually, you'll have it all. When you get the big pieces, I'd just flush the "small" fragments.

Karen has a good idea using the potato. After the potato, try some plumbers putty or a big hunk of chewing gum on the end of a stick.

Cut a potatoe in half and use it to get up any pieces that are standing upright. I would use some tweezers if I could to get the rest.
