the causway over lake ponchitrain was the longest bridge but Katrina had other thoughts about that, when it is fixed up it will regain its title (may allready be fixed). Connects Madeville and New Orleans Louisiana. It is approx 24 miles long. and i knew that wihtout lokked at retarded wikipedia.

I think it is the confederation bridge connecting new brunswik (or newfoundland) to prince edward island in canada. over 25 km long (7 - 10 miles)
