Here is my 2 cents.
1. Do what you love to do and it does not matter what kind of sale man you are.
2. attended sale classes to learn new trick and skill.
3.Read book sabout top sale man to motivate.
4. Learn how to communicate effectively with others. If you are shy try a speech class to improve your confident.
5.Make friends and keep in touch with your customers.
6. Learn how to give when you make money to charities and schools.
7. Evaluate yourself everyday about your plan and commitment.
8. Get organize every day and make sure you update your schedules.
9. Always on time when you meet the clients.
10. Do not afraid to make a mistake and do not feel shy to apologize. Remember no one is perfect.
11. Have a positive attitude and hope. Anything is possible in your vocabulary

work hard and always be closing deals. Its kind of a hard question to answer, how do you become the best at anything. you must work hard. most top sales people work a ton of hrs per week.

what are you selling? if it is a large purchase, as in expensive, lots of consequences, occasionally multiple decision makers... try SPIN.
