I think she was unfairly judged!! They are always picking on people being to skinny or gaining weight. They are not happy either way and to pick on Miss Banks is the last straw! Her fighting back and letting them know what they could cause young girls and Teens! She should be awarded a medal! Miss Banks is a great role model for any young lady. She has HEART! She would be beautiful at 700 pounds.

I think its great she is sticking up for the real women in the world. I mean Tyra is not fat....not by any means. I think people are cruel. Because if she dropped fifty pounds then they would accuse her of a disorder or drugs. I am glad she STUCK IT TO THE MAN! But I think she did talk about it a little too much. So she is gainin' some weight, join the real world....she should call Keirsty Alley<---however you spell it and start a support group, because the fat jokes, are not gonna stop! Just wait 'tll Talk Soup and SNL get a hold of her...OUCH

I saw those pictures and she is thick in the correct places. African American Women can hold weight in certain places (hips and thighs) well and not look fat.
A person's weight does not indicate if they are fat or not.
Her hip to waist ratio is very good. That would be less waist and more hip. Her genetics are what mandates her proportions and body type.
Her stomach was mostly fat.
Lastly she is no longer a super model. She is now a talk show host. But, she still looks good and can walk the walk. And apparently she can talk the talk, because she told the media what she thinks.

I think we need more women like her addressing body image issues. She looks beautiful, by all accounts she's healthy; nobody looks perfect all the time, skinny or otherwise. The media is being ridiculous as usual, and it's time someone pointed it out.
The article/interview with her in People was also really lovely.

She's in the public eye so she should expect to receive all sorts of criticism, good or bad.
She had to have known it was coming: A former supermodel ballooning our of proportion? C'mon! That was ripe for abuse!
If she doesn't like being criticized she needs to bow out of the entertainment industry. The end.

she has every right to give it to them.........celebs give up their privacy, but the media trolls just make it worse........realistically Tyra has no problem showing people the "real" her she just wants it to be done on her terms and not for the sake of a rag mag
