everyone has a different soul, mind, body, etc. that's what makes us so unique. anyways, some people read to practice their literacy skills. others do it to learn. most people read books for leisure and entertainment. whatever reason, it is usually a different reason than someone in the world.

I would say that the reasons people read books for different reasons is that we all have different interests. Some people like to read true stories, they sometimes enjoy identifying with a particular person or subject. Other people, like myself, read strictly for enjoyment. It's an escape from the every day drudgery of your normal daily routine. Some people are required to read books for a class. Other people read books strictly to be informed about a certain subject. That's also the reason why there are so many different types of books. History, Politics, Crime novels and yes...Romance novels and so many more. Many authors write about subjects they enjoy or they create different worlds and characters simply because that is where their imagination takes them and ultimately their readers. There is a vast variety of books that are there to inform, entertain and or provoke thought. Reading is a really powerful way to increase your vocabulary and boost your intellect. Different books, different people, different reasons.

Caz no two people are the same
Like someone who's really curious about history might read a book to learn about the time period when it took place. But someone who's a hopeless romantic might read the same book for the love story. Everybody wants to satisfy their curiousity and we're all so different.

People read to get information, to learn about the past, to learn about other people or cultures, to learn how to do something, for relaxation, enjoyment, to escape the daily grind, out of boredom, or sometimes to make themselves tired so they can fall asleep. Whatever the reason, the most important thing is not WHY do you read, it's just TO READ!

I will tell you this. An author writes a better world. I imagine that world better than any director could film it, so for my escape I prefer a book.
