is it because the heavier people can actually stand to lose the weight?

I was watching the tyra banks show today...and they were talking about this....saying that people really need to look out for the heavier people that are going anorexic too.

I absolutely agree with you, but obviously the most well documented anorexics are typically very underweight and very weak. When you see a person that resembles a walking skeleton, it is blatently obvious they have an easting disorder.

It is not so obvious when someone is normal size or overweight and in this case, it can be more dangerous in that it can go undiagnosed and untreated because people do not spot the signs.

Regardless of size, any type of eating disorder is serious and needs to be treated as early as possible to prevent it from escalating and causing serious physical and psychological harm.

Take care : )

Good question. Gotta think about that one, hmmm...

I think it's just that anorexia is a very publicized thing and there are SO many fat people. People don't necessarily care more about anorexics, they just hear more about them. Either way is very unhealthy, so everyone should care about both.

i completely understand. i think the heavier you are, the more you are willing to do to lose weight... including stopping eating all together. i suppose its just as dangerous, cuz u have the pressure of being overweight on your body, and now no nutrients to support it. its interesing isnt it?

both is unhealthy-but the anorexics don't believe that they have a problem and it's harder to treat someone that doesn't believe that they are at risk.

because, like you said, the heavy people could stand to lose the weight.

to me, i don't even consider it anorexia if the person is overweight. that's called dieting. i would starve myself too if i were fat.
