Their son is their son, I'd leave it up to your husband as to how to handle that part of his life and not stress over it. Gd Luck!

I've been in your shoes. My now ex husband had two boys when we married from another women and she still wanted him back and REALLY resented my being married to him and being involved. I asked that she be invited to things like pt conferences from the teacher when the teacher sent the letters home to me also send them to her. that helped some she felt less like i was taking her place but sharing it. I was the mother figure, but she is there mom. She took some time to get used to me and in the end she never completely excepted me, she wouldn't let the kids call me Any thing buy my name, not even step mom b/c "i was never their Mom" . So not an easy place to be in, i would suggest trying to let her know you aren't trying to replace her but stand strong that you are a good influence to the kids and love them and want nothing but for them to be happy and healthy. and though she may not like you she needs to help her kids be happy and you are a part of their lives weather or not she likes it.
