I'm a nursing student and I own a pair of scrubs. Will the doctor find it more impressive to be dressed professionally, or if I wear my scrubs?

Keep in mind, the doctor that will be interviewing me knows I'm coming straight from school and we ARE required to wear our scrubs in class for theory and clinical. So are the scrubs ok, or should I dress professional? PLEASE ONLY ANSWER IF YOU'VE WORKED IN A MEDICAL OFFICE OR HOSPITAL BEFORE.

If you want to wear your scrubs feel free too, but I wouldnt. I have an interview next week for Rehab Asst/Tech position and the lady whom I spoke too reminded me to dress professionally. I took this to mean that she didnt want me to dress casual or show in my scrubs.

I used to be in H.R., and now I am a business manager. I guarantee you that your interview will be more positive if you dress professionally. You should wear dress shoes (heels or flats), nylons, and a skirt and blouse (jacket optional) if you are female, and a shirt and tie (jacket optional), slacks, and dress shoes if you are male. Hygiene is also extremely important. Make sure that you are scrupulously clean and odor free (breath, body, etc.). Finally, it's a good idea to use Purell on your hands before you get out of your car. The alcohol in it will help dry up any perspiration, so that you won't have a sweaty handshake. I think maybe dressing in the scurbs maybe overkill in saying, I know your going to hire, so look what I have. I think dressing professionally is a much better way to go, because you show them that you are professional even when not working. It is much easier to wear scrubs than something professional. have an awesome day!!! :)

It might be better to dress professionally in this case because you're really not too sure how to dress. He/she would probably take to an office in the back and interview you.

You may only wear your scrubs if he knows you're coming there from your "other" job. If you do not currently have a job in nursing and are only in school, than do NOT wear your scrubs. By etiquette it's considered "TACKY".

For an interview you must show the doctor you respect him and his decision to hire you. I think modestly professional. And always be two or three min. early no more or no less.
