much clothes washing and car washing is to blame?

I hunderstand the pants,the more you wash them the sooner they came apart (right after they get really confortable).
The car paint is usually a defect in the original paint job,unless you wash your car with Spick & Span and steel wool.

Fabric on clothes will naturally weaken with time. Wear & washing are to blame. More expensive fabrics would last longer. Not sure on the car. If you are using extremely high pressure it could knock some of the paint off.

you dont really need to wash you pants every single time you wear them...at least for jeans. that was the orignial intent. make sure you turn them inside out to help make them last, though. It may sound dirty but it is true
