"From Hindustani गुरू / گرو < Sanskrit गुरु, meaning heavy. An etymology based on the Advayataraka Upanishads (14--18, verse 5) describes the syllables gu=darkness and ru=dispeller, as in dispeller of darkness.

GURU=Guide to Ultimate & Right Universe.
Guru is a person who just not teaches u,shows u the right path but also takes the pain to walk with u through that path & holds u when u are falling,helps u in rising back,face the world bravely & makes u think positive in each situation.
According to me Guru is the image of god on earth,the divine soul in our lives.
