My mobile phone contract is one with 18 months' minimum term. Does that mean that even if I am very unhappy with their service I still have to stay in the contract for at least 18 months?

with the contract that i had, it was a year contract, i had insurance and had such a thing as free way, where i could cancel if wanted to, but it would cost me, my best advice to you is to phone the company up and see what can be done, maybe they can offer you a better deal, as that was what i done and worked until the end of my contract, now with a better network where i have a better contract where this one is 18 months as well, but better deal.

Any contracts formed between you and the mobile company will be deemed to have been made in the UK and shall be governed and construed according to English law. Any disputes or proceedings shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts

In the unlikely event that you experience a fault or defect with your equipment (phone) in the first 12 months following purchase please contact your service provider

Your Agreement (contract) may be ended either by you or your service provider giving at least 30 days' notice. You must pay all Charges incurred during the Agreement.

Not necessarily. Usually there is a clause in the contract that will allow you to terminate service for a penalty (somewhere around $200). Read your contract carefully. You can also call your cell provider and ask them. As for the length of notice, it depends on the contract as well. 30 days is usually sufficient, but you may have to give notice a full billing period ahead instead (which could be as many as 60 days in advance).

Read your aggreement with the cell phone company. Most of them will charge an early termination fee of at least $150.

you have to proof that they broke the terms of the contract and that is hard to do
