In Barrow, Alaska on the Arctic Ocean, the annual average temperature is 10.4 degrees. However, with an average temperature of 10.1 degrees Fahrenheit, Umiat (which is in alaska) beats out Barrow and claims the record as the coldest place in the United States...unless a heat wave strikes it, which happens.
...basically, Alaska is the coldest state.
