I was wondering if anyone knows if Jerry Springer is actually scripted or not? How do those people get away with beating each other up w/o an assault charge or something?

The stories are real. Sometimes the actual people come to the show, but sometimes, if they are too embarrassed they will use actors to play the roles of the real people. They of course only do that if the story is something they really want to have on the show. As far as the fights... when real people get into a fight, and especially if it gets carried away, they take the guest backstage momentarily and let them know, if they don't simmer down, they will be charged criminally. But they all sign a limited release of liability. Unless it becomes an aggravated assault, they don't have to worry about it.

I have a friend that appeared on the show as a guest 6 yrs ago. He told me about the release and what they do backstage if things get crazy.

why do people have to say something is ALL black or ALL white?

i think most people on the show are real, but i've seen a couple of scenes that seemed verrrrrrrry fake, like they were using actors and a script.

also keep in mind that even if they have real people, it might look fake because they're on a tv show, they're going to act different than if they weren't on the springer show where a fight bell is sounding and everyone expects them to fight etc.

Its mostly scripted I was not on that show but I was on Jenny Jones and are whole story was scripted by us but they thought it was true, but some stories are true just like the guy who told another guy he had a crush on him and got beat up and killed after the shows taping and they got sued and won.

Actually, in some cases, the cops are right outside to arrest anyone who gets too violent. Most of the Jerry Staff "Bouncers" are retired or off-duty officers.

I KNOW! It's GOT to be scripted. Maybe I have to much faith in people to think it can't be real.

The show seems scripted to me. I have only watched it for a short time, and I hate it.
