He will run his mouth until he backs himself into a corners and then he will find out just how "bad" the US (military) can be. He runs his mouth like the typical leftist, and is show boating.

It seems to me as though his hatred is directed more towards Bush and his cohorts than the U.S. as a whole. I don't like what he's saying but it's not too far astray from what's being said in this country about Bush. Chavez is a bigmouth that will probably have to be dealt with one way or another someday.

Well running his own country into the ground isn't working ("suspending" the legislature). And I don't think anyone ever told him the childhood "sticks and stones" ditty. He doesn't have nukes to give to Iran and North Korea, so that won't work. And I think the average Venezuelan (the ones with money) aren't going to turn terrorist on us. I think manly his own people are going to get the short end of this one (Saudi Arabia will keep lowering the price of oil to keep us addicted, so he won;t have much leverage there either).

Yes, he is trying to provoke us, but it is all bluster. He does not want us to actually do anything. He knows he doesn't stand a chance of winning anything other than re-election by standing up to the big ol' USA! It's a shame so many countries dislike us & we barely know they exist!

His rhetoric against the US isn't about the US, it's about creating and perpetuating someone for his supporters to hate. That way Chavez has more power. Sound familiar Cons?

As far as he can. He seems to be trying to get nuclear weapons from Iran or North Korea. He is also preparing a hand-picked army of loyalists and arming them to be his 'Red Guard'.
In true Socialist fashion, he is casting blame at the US while he is the one instigating conflict. That strategy seems to fool the Stupid People.
