hairspray or rubbing alcohol will work but you have to do it a few times. Put clean paper towels under stain and dab w/hairspray/alcohol - when stain seaps through to towel move towel to vlean spot and continue until stain is removed. Rinse w/luke warm water - biggest misconsception is that cold water helps remove stains - cold and hot water actually set stains and the dryer will bake them in.

White paste type toothpaste has removed Sharpie permanant marker marks for me in the past. However, I have not tested it on fabric before. Test it on scrap fabric first, and be sure to put 2 layers of paper towels underneath to catch the color that bleeds out.

For new and old carpet stains, treat with rubbing alcohol, gently rub/blot with a clean cloth and watch stain disappear! It even gets out permanent black marker.

Ink, ball point, Felt tip markers. Sponge on any of the following until stain is forced out:
Dry cleaning Solvent( buy in Super Markets)
Alcohol (use 1 part Alcohol to 2 part water)
Acetone or prewash stain remover, let dry and repeat if necessary . If any stain remains apply a heavy duty Liquid detergent and clean with that.
