ok well i have this homework, it is really wasy but there is this one thing i cant think of.

the homework is about comparing modern times with Medieval Europe. Well when stared listing things about our society today i got stuck on MARRIAGE AND DATING.

i had to list ways of how that is done today that is different from Europe.

for example for entertainment i put: mall, movies, music, dance, movie theater, etc.

BUT THE MAIN PROBLEM IS WHAT SHOULD I PUT FOR MARRIAGE AND DATING?

there wasn't dating - women were chattle and sold for their dowries. ( bride price) . Marrage was forced upon women without them having any say. and they had no rights in the marrage.

compare that with today. should be easy.

The above answers are only minimally correct. While powerful families spent time arranging marriages, most in medieval times weren't in a class where that happened.

Family or village events, celebrations - much like our modern fairs - or religious events allowed young people to meet and spend time together.

Medieval Europe was the time of chivalry. Flowery poetry, chivalrous deeds, Valentines... Women in Scotland gained the right to propose marriage in 1228! Does that sound like chattel to you?

I think this varied a little.When my daughter studied this subject people from lower backgrounds socialised with dances etc.Young people got together.
