I personally don't care, but it's funny that the conservative goons are all over everyone else when they have different "values", but very mum when one of their own doesn't fit their profile. Like Karl Rove hiring a male prostitute, or Mary Cheney having a child out of wedlock and being gay. Can you imagine how much mud they would sling if the situation was reversed?

She just wanted a child, no harm in that. Sadly I doubt that she will be able to avoid the spotlight, and frankly, the conservatives are the party that started going after peoples private lives to smear them ...I wish her well, she isn't a politician, but that isn't going to help her, as her family is in politics. Republican goons went after Chelsea Clinton when she was just a child in the white house (Rush Limbaugh among them) That's the way things go now that the press is used to wreaking peoples lives for headlines.

I just feel bad that she had to grow up with Cheney as a Dad. How creepy.

Duh...It's a baby. Do you think she is the first Lesbian (with her partner) to have a baby or adopt a child? Wake up and smell the coffee. What it is is a personal decision. It is not a political statement. It is not a prop to be used in a debate by people on either side of an issue. It is her child. You'd figure if any one from the party of "tolerence" would get it--you would.......

Don't know don't care.
It is a baby not a political statement. Her words not mine.

I have grown to respect her more than any other gay person in the public eye.

She wanted a child so she did. Where is it for any liberal or conversative to even question it.

Unlike the people we elect, what Mary Cheney does or doesn't do has no effect what so ever on you or me.
She has nothing to invite the obvious invasion of her private life - let her be.

Did you ever consider the possibility that she wants a child? The "daddy" is probably an anonymous sperm donor.

Why do you care? She isn't a public figure.

Some sperm bank vile deary. I am a Conservative and I don't think it is right.
You want to be gay that's your choice, but same sex couples should not and cannot procreate naturally.

I sure hope the "daddy" gets in the picture, growing up with that "bastard" label is gonna be tough on the new addition

Its just a woman wanting to have a baby. She's not a politician, she's just a woman who got invitro. Why must so many people make a big deal about it? She's not a politician!
