Its a little embrassing to tell him... but i also need to know exactly HOW serious it is ... and what i can do to make it better .... please help!

go to a gynecologist or obgyn. there is a birth control called 'yaz' that treats the symtoms of pmdd and also gives you shorter/lighter periods. ask the doctor for some handouts or pamphlets on pmdd and yaz. when you get home go through the pamphlets with your dad and explain to him that the symptoms are disrupting your life and with the help of your doctor you should be fine.

I don't know much about the disorder but just also realize that a lot of symptoms on those commercials are somewhat general and when someone wants to diagnose themselves it's easy to match up. Just say "hey dad I think I need to see a doctor because I feel like this...." (he'll just be glad you're not pregnant ;) hehe) Good luck!

Being a guy, I don't know anything about PMDD. But I can tell you that you cannot directly make an appointment with a specialist. You first have to go to your family doctor, who will then refer you to a specialist if necessary.
