First off if its new you should go to Start -> Startup and see if there are any programs that startup with your computer if soo that is probably the reason why it is slow especiallu in the beginning. Also maybe your computer's specs are not good enough to handle some of the programs you may be running. You should be able to check out specs for your programs at the manufacturer website. Now if you are talking about internet well that's a totally different issue. Press CTRL + ALT + DEL and go to performance if your CPU Usage is higher than 80% that means that your processor cant handle most of the stuff that is running (all together). Also check and see if the Page File (PF Usage) is low if not then you might want to put some RAM into your comp. You can also go to Processes and go through the list of programs and the corresponding CPU usage for each (look in the CPU column for each program).
HOPE THAT HELPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Have you installed any programs since you bought it? That can slow it down alot. Have you cleared your cookies? You should. I'm far from being a computer wiz but I do know that the above will slow it down. If you have too much stuff on it you may need to remove some programs or utilize your recovery and applications dvd that came with the computer to clean it out.

you have to check your settings on your computer. You may have to get an upgrade on your wireless internet. If you have dial-up it will naturally be slow, I would recommend getting a high grade dsl.

because you have installed alot of programs, but u have not deleted un-used programs... if for this situation, u have to go to control panel --->add or remove programs, and remove programs that u don't really use much
I had been this situation before, i did deleted some that i didn't use much, and the speed was better just like new. Hope you will too.
