It's a hernia in the inguinal region. (that's the "bend" between you thigh and your trunk.

I believe you are referring to an inguinal hernia. There is a hole in the abdominal muscle in males where the spermatic cord comes up from the testicles and enters the body to wrap around behind the bladder. This is just a weak area in the male anatomy, females can get hernias there also but we just aren't as likely too. This is easily repaired but does involve surgery.
