Bill introduced to ban incandescent bulbs
East Bay Business Times - 4:57 PM PST Tuesday

Democrats are taking freedom and putting government in control, Trans fats, smoking, spanking ,what else can we add. Democrats will eliminate “Land of the Free” and “Home of the Brave”

Assemblyman Lloyd Levine believes he has a bright idea: to ban the sale of incandescent light bulbs by 2012.
Levine, a Democrat from Van Nuys, introduced the bill Tuesday, claiming the ban of incandescent bulbs in favor of energy-efficient fluorescent bulbs would "cut greenhouse gas emissions and save consumers money."

is saying the money and the environment a bad thing all of a sudden? And what does our national anthem have to do with anything?

State your objections without the personal attacks please. And would you still fell the same way if Dennis Hastert had introduced this bill?

I'm hopping on the soapbox.

The Dems always try to use global warming against the community for use to sway votes, and people who don't know any better believe every spoon-fed word. Political figures, such as Al Gore, only see a small slice of what they have been able to see in their lifetime. The earth is very old. Gore's life and our lives are nothing but a dot on a timeline. 90% of the scientific community, who have studied the earth's past, have said that global warming is a natural cycle. The other 10% are on the political bandwagon.

That being said, I fail to see how incandescent light bulbs have anything to do with failing our environment. Will they save us money? Well, I do happen to have the same florescent bulb in the light here in my office that I've had for 3 years, and it still works. The life of the bulb is much longer than that of an incandescent. So, yes, I do agree that point, but the money saved is not going to fund your child's college education - as a box of 4 incandescent bulbs cost about a dollar and change. If you can't afford a box of bulbs that will last you 6 months, then someone else must be paying your electricity bill.

I do agree our freedoms are slowly being taken away. It's my right to smoke cigarettes in my home, and eat oreo cookies after dinner. If I can afford to pay my medical bills, I should be allowed to enjoy my life; which, includes being able to do what I choose with my own body.

How we discipline our children should not include government involvement either. There was spanking in my household when I grew up. You know what? I've never been to jail, on drugs, an alcoholic, or a child abuser. I'm a productive member of society. Children should know right from wrong, and fully understand there are consequences in life. NO one should ever tell me I cannot give my child a pop on the bottom for stealing in a grocery store. To deny discipline, is to raise a child without a conscience. It's not a wonder we have kids shooting up schools, having felonies before the age of 18, and running around with such utter disregard for authority. I pity our future.

And then he will introduce a major spending bill to provide for funds to revamp poor peoples homes for fluorescent lights, of which 5 cents on the dollar will go to the poor and 95 cent will go in the pocket of a bureaucrat!

It's too late the republicans all ready have. And HELLO? The last time I checked, greenhouse gas emissions were bad, spanking was abusive, and smoking/second-hand smoking caused cancer!! WHAT ARE YOU COMPLAINING ABOUT!! Losing those things sounds pretty good to me.

They already have. I love the freedoms we used to have. But don't be misled, Democrats and Republicans are in the same bed. They talk different crap just to make people think they have a choice. Remember, Democrats have the party of No Ideas and the Republicans have the party of Bad Ideas.

WHAT I'M HEARING ABOUT LLOYD LEVINE IS, HE IS AN A-- HOLE AND HE IS CONFIRMING THAT HIMSELF. THEY SAY HE TALKS TOO MUCH AND ALWAYS END UP WITH HIS FOOT IN HIS MOUTH. IF WE LOSS OUR FREEDOM IT WILL NOT BE BECAUSE OF THE DEMOCRATS. IF ANYTHING YOU BETTER HOPE THE DEMOCRATS CAN CLEAN UP THE MESS THE REPUBLICAN HAVE CREATED. BECAUSE THEY HAVE MADE A MESS OF THINGS.
