NY's only rock station (92.3 K-rock) is done. You know why? because rock music died. Thats right... 1 out of 20 new rock bands are decent or can even be called a "rock band". 95% of today's "rock" is played on your average pop/r&b station etc. Most 90s was too heavy for pop stations. What does that tell you?

The funny thing about it is that these emo kids walk around in malls thinking their bad*** while wearing things like pink skulls and guys with their hair so neatly placed over 75% of their face.

Death to emo! Bring rock back!

There... so now you know...

Ah! I was really enjoying this rock station where I live and now all I hear is emo/screamo music on it. I'm not saying I totally hate all emo music, I actually liked some of the earlier stuff, but I don't think it should be on the same station as System of a Down, TOOL, and Breaking Benjamin. It has its place, and its not on my friggin station!!!!

I hate today's music. Bring back the 70's and 80's. Esp the 80's. I was born in 1990 and I missed out on a great decade. Not all of us kids like today's entertainment. Guns and Roses, RHCP (I liked there older stuff better), ACDC, Led zepplin, Aerosmith, Def leapord, Nirvana, Queen,Pink floyd, Rolling stones, QOTSA etc. You do realise that as the yrs go on people are going to be listening to worse things than emo. I would have love to have seen the 80's. I think the guys were really hot. I watched the film the lost boys, it seemed like so much fun. But I like the straightish hair and hipster jeans of today. No shoulder pads too.

correct-o-mundo, pic_niki! correct-o-mundo! the days of the '90s when bands thought "How can we be different while still being good?" are over. now bands think "How can we be just like all the other bands that are popular?" the answer to their question is: sound just like Panic! and Fallout or My Chemical Romance and you'll be just fine. Wear girl pants and have hair that would make Robert Smith grimace and you will be gauranteed to hear your song played on the radio 24/7.

and do you know who's fault it is? the record companyies'. we don't get to choose what we listen to anymore, they do. they decide what's popular, not us. and somehow, people actually like the crap that they pick! i have a friend who loves emo junk but thinks that Johhny Cash, Pearl Jam, and Nirvana have no talent! what is happening to kids these days?! it's like they hear stuff on the radio and don't know that there is other music out there, so they think what is on the radio is good. then when they hear actual good stuff, they compare to the crap they think is good, and think the good stuff is bad!

so not just death to emo! DEATH TO TYRANOUS RECORD COMPANIES!!

rock isnt dead
the stuff you hear on the radios is usually pop-rock or pop-punk.. punk also happens to be a form of rock music. theres plenty of heavy rock bands out there, if thats what you want to hear
and no emo is not the death of rock, for 2 main reasons. 1. its already dead, died early 90s. do your research ;) and 2. its a form of punk, which is a form of rock, which means if emo was the only thing around, rock would still be too.

rock goes through changes. I mean, the first rock was like Elvis, and now it's emo, and throughout the middle there was metal and grunge and stuff.

Let's compare Elvis and emo. They are both considered "rock" but sound COMPLETELY different.

It's just a matter of how you look at it.

DEATH TO EMO! But thats my opinion. I like metal so thats not much better. Why cant we all just get along and have separate radio stations. You can have your EMO stations and we can have good music stations.
