I'm a new author and my friends and some co-workers have bought my book. How should I sign it?

This is how I've been signing it: (example):

To Grandma Elaine
Hope you enjoy the book
Love Sasha

To Kristen Elliot
Hope you enjoy the book
~Sasha Shewchuk
________

Should I just be writting first names or should I be including my last name and/or theirs?

thanks

Most people like first and last names, mainly because it prooves it really was signed to them.
But make sure to ask the spelling of their name, even if you think you know.

For your, Grandma Elaine
I'd leave it as is.

Many Authors like to have a single way to sign their name, so it can be identified as your signature. Even for family, though, sometimes Authors have a Special way of signing for family.

Practice different ways, that's what my brother and I did. Until we found the way to initial and sign our name best.

Good Writing...and Congratulations

I went to your web-page, I notice we're the same age. Well, your book seems Interesting, but I can't seem to find your book on:

www.barnesandnoble.com
www.amazon.com

Well, as I said before, Good Writing...and Congratulations.

When you sign a book,it should be with the name under which you wrote the book. You may add something like "best wishes" "good luck" or anything you wish.
If I had a copy of your book and signed it Sasha that's not fraud,it's deceit. However if I sign it Sasha Whomever that's fraud.
For example J.K Rowling has millions of books out there. Some lucky people have signed 1st editions.Valuable.Had she purely signed Jane to Sasha.Meaningless

If it were me, I'd sign it to them by first name if that's what I called them around the job, and I'd sign first and last name if I called them "Mr.," "Ms.," "Sir," or "Ma'am." And I'd sign my own full name either way. But of course, as the creative artist, the final decision is up to you. If in doubt, just ask them how they would like you to sign it.

For relatives and friends--just your first name of course.
For relative strangers, First and last name.
