I like Joshua better than Cole, but when you say Cole Patterson I can see why you are torn and undecided. Both names are beautiful and excellent choices. I would say to let God make the final decision. When He is born, you will take the first look at him and know in your heart which it should be. Thanks for asking our opinion.

I personally love the name Joshua, so that would be my choice. But Cole is nice too. Why not Joshua Cole Paterson?

Both are really really popular and he's going to be one of many at his school.

But of the two, Cole is less popular than Joshua (you really can't MOVE for baby Joshuas at the moment, makes me wonder why people are so unimaginative as to all copy each other) so I'd go with that personally.

Or you could call him Nicholas (which is the full version of Cole) and call him Cole for short. When he's older he can always use another short form like Nick or Nicky or Nichol or something if he doesn't like Cole.

How about you go for Joshua Cole Paterson. You have the best of both of your names in one. I really like your choices.

Cole. Joshua is so much more common than cole, do you really want your son to be called joshua 1 or Joshua 2? Thats why my son's name is Alexander "Xander" and my daughter's name is Trinity, not many people have those names
