Engineers agree that New Orleans is sinking. I believe it is not the Federal governments problem to save a city after the city and state mismanaged millions of dollars of levy repair money given to them. The fed should make a declaration that you return at your own risk.

Hey Blue,

If you want to see the art and history of New Orleans, I suggest you invest in a SCUBA diving class so that you can dive down and see it whenever you want.

The rest of us vote to use our tax dollars to fund a city that isn't sinking.

The only thing that makes this more ironic is that the City of New Orleans voted in the same IDIOT mayor that wrecked the city in the first place! So as far as I'm concerned, New Orleans deserves to suffer the same fate again.

And they will. By that time you'll be blaming Hillary. Or Obama. That will be cute.

Gee, we have starving people all over the country, and you want to invest millions of dollars into a wet piece of sinking land.

Despite the fact that your argument about state and local squandering of funds is the cause of N'awlins ruin is ridiculous, I agree with your basic premise. New Orleans is a poorly designed city that is sinking, and it is just a matter of time until the NEXT big disaster hits that city. It's better to develop an alternative to New Orleans instead of pumping money into a perennially dying city.

NEW ORLEANS SHOULD BE SAVE THERE SO MUCH ART AND HISTORY THERE THERE'S NO OTHER CITY LIKE IT OR WILL EVER BE. ALL IS BASICALLY LOST NOW BECAUSE IT IS BEING BROUGHT UP BY CARPET BAGGERS AND SCATTERWAGS I MAYBE SPELLING THOSE WORD WRONG, HOWEVER IF YOU KNOW YOUR HISTORY, THE ONLY THING I'M SAYING THERE'S EVEN MORE CORRUPTION NOW THAT THEY ARE HAVING SO MANY PROBLEMS THERE. YES, WE NEED TO SAVE "THE CHOCOLATE CITY." AND AS FOR THE GOVERNMENT IT IS SO CORRUPTED IT CAN'T BE FIXED.

I am all in favor of rebuilding New Orleans..as long as they rebuild in in Kansas or Oklahoma, you know, someplace that isn't sinking 12 inches a year.

ok.. so we'd spent trillions on Iraq but not bother with one of own cities... get a grip! If New York was sinking, i doubt if you'd have the same attitude!
