I have a Ford Escape 2003, it is a stick shift car, first I had the problem with gear, it was hard to gear it on first, but now that the gear is fine, after I drive it for period of time, when I turn it on, it doesn't stay on, I have to wait for at least half an hour so I can drive it again

I agree with you that the ECU is the problem. See if you can go to junkyard like a pick and pull here in California. Check your Throttle Positioning Switch (TPS) You do this by hooking up to a digital multimeter in DC 12 volts. Hook up the positive to the "hot" wire and the ground to the black wire. Have someone rev up the engine. You should get an increase in voltage as you rev up the engine. I know with Nissan's, you practically have to change the whole throttle body. Check he Chilton's manual in your public library on removing and replacing a throttle body. Also see if there are throttle relays you need to check/ My friend who has a Nissan always go to the junkyard, He;s been Lucky. Replace your power steering pump.Again go to the junkyard If your battery is more than 3 years old, replace it, no junkyard. If not take your alternator to be tested at an auto parts store. I think my friend has bee lucky finding electrical components that work in the junkyard. He said if what he got is defective he;ll go to another.
