I got my laptop last year and could go without the plug for more than 2 hours, now its less than an hour! why? can I make it last longer? I was thinking the same thing as a cell phone like don't use the plug until it dies, charge it all the way, take out the plug til it dies, etc to build it up..not sure though

The battery deteriorates over time and won't last as long. Some people beleive if you discharge it completely and the recharge it that will help, but I know of no evidence to support that idea. All you can do other than buy a new battery is to go to Power Management in the Control Panel and try to save power as much as possible. Turn off the screen and hard drives as soon as you can.

You really should have been doing that all the time to keep your battery maximized. Batteries don't really last all that long - unfortunately. I have mine plugged in all the time - hardly never without a plug.

cause you probably use the laptop to much and charge it a lot. it uses up the battery. Also maybe battery can't hold much power. So u might need to get a new one.

Depends on the laptop and the manufacturer of the battery. Have you tried checking the website of the manufacturer of either?
