I am using IE 6 SP2 on WinXP Pro SP2. I've reset all options in the Internet Options & IE still won't resolve www.google.com. The one time that it did, it took nearly 5 minutes!

It's not that I can't type it out due to laziness. I just found this interesting when it happened. Did I change a setting somewhere without me knowing it?

Actually you don't need it in Internet Explorer pr Netscape. Plain old google.com works fine

It depends on the browser you are using. Safari for Mac automatically transfers you from google.com to http://www.google.com but others such as internet Explorer, Sleipnir, Firfox and Netscape don't have such useful additions.

Hai there !
I am not sure that the solution i am giving will work ,but no harm in trying it.

open MyComputer - > Windows - > System32 - > Drivers - > Etc.
In this folder change all the file "filename".old and restart the system .

just use the http:// in fornt of it. surely you aren't too lazy to type that
