Last time we had sex was almost 3 weeks ago, I took a pregnency test a week ago and it said it was negative, now im really late, could i be pregnant? Or would it have been positive last week? How long after sex does it take for someone to get pregnant?

If you got pregnant, you were probably ovulating which happens 2 weeks before the start of your period. You didn't say how long ago you took the test? Test again since you say you are really late. If it's negative again, you're probably just having a weird period. If you're still paranoid, take several tests or go see your doctor.
It takes a day or two for sperm to find the egg and conception happens. However, it takes about 2 weeks before it's detected by a test.

You can get pregnant right after or up to 5 days after sex. Sperm can live that long, so even if you arent ovulating when you have sex, if you release an egg within a few days later, you can get prego by the sperm that remains in your body. you could be..or you might not be..i say wait like a week or so before taking another test..it also depends on your body when you get pregnant..our eggs live up to 24 hours..soo if the sperm meets the egg b4 it dies..then theres a good chance...but wait a week to take it and if it comes back negative then there could be other reason why you didnt get your period..like stress..or your cycle is changing..and you dont have a "normal" cycle! well good luck!!

I had sex last cycle and I was delay by 6 days but it was due to stress. I thought I was pregnant and I took about 4 ptest and also I had 2 blood test. Unfourtunately I wasn't pregnant. But you should go to the gyno he'll know what to do.

You should wait two weeks after your period is supposed to arrive. After two weeks then take a hpt. I would be really late, take a hpt and it came out negative. The next week i got my period. Not sure, go to the doctor.

well it varies everyone is different i think if you took a test now it most likely will come out positive unless you under alot of stress that can be one cause of a miss period that's why when you go to a clinic they ask about you LMP and if it hasn't pass a month then they wont test you

a waited just under 4weeks after i had sex 2 do my tests because it gives up a clearer result when u do about then
now am nearly 12weeks pregnant
