I am looking forward to purchasing a new car this fall. I am currently driving a 1999 Kia Sephia, the lemon of all lemons...
I really like the G5 GT's and wanted to know if anyone knew anything about them ( positive or negative). I just want to have all my facts before I buy this time... thanks!

Really want to stay away from all foreign cars... prefer to stick with chevy, or gm products... drove the hell out of an 84 monte carlo... wish they still made them like that!

That is extremely smart of you to try and get all the info you can ahead of time! I drive 2 pontiacs, and I owned 2 before these 2. Do you happen to know what engine the G5 GT has in it? If it is the 3.5l, don't keep it past warranty.
Your best bet for getting loads of good info on these cars, some completely un-bias are going to be your best bet. Try going to www.consumerreports.com, www.edmunds.com, www.kbb.com, www.caranddriver.com, www.motortrend.com.
You should also try to do a search on the web for a Pontiac G5 forum. Sounds crazy, but it is where you will be able to get the best owner opionions. You will be able to find out what problems other people have with them, and what other owners love about them.
I currently own a 05 GTO, and a 07 Grand Prix GXP. I LOVE both of them. I in the past have owned a sunfire, which I also loved! I had a Grand Am GT a few years ago, I really liked the car, but I was constantly replacing parts on it.
Good luck!
By the way, either way, it will be better than that Kia with out a doubt.

Well Cookie, the G5 seems to be a pretty good car. I work at a Pontiac dealer and I don't really see any serious problems with them. I would buy one if I was in the market for a small car.

I think the G5 GT seems like a pretty decent buy - we have one on the lot with a sticker of $19,930, and it's pretty much completely loaded! You get the best warranty in the biz, and a sporty car to boot. What's not to like?

make sure you drive one first - pontiacs (like most gm products) have low grade interiors when compared to similarly priced japanese cars. they also dont handle as well, use their hp as wisely and seem to have more problems in the long run. if you really want to do your research invest in the consumer reports car buying guide - that really is the end all to all comparisons. pick one up for about $8 and really get some answers.

they have been building it since 2005 but only released it in the U.S last year, it was called the pontiac persuit in 05 and was only sold in Canada, it's a decent car for the price and sharp, it is built at the Lordstown assembly plant in Ohio along with the cobalt, I would recommend it.

reach behind the bumper and there should be part of the assembly that turns and it will pop out and you have access to the bulb.
