In response to your question . . .

Before blaming eBay consider the seller (you). The main reason why newbies fail is because they don't do enough homework. Homework means researching by reading about the product/service before selling it. You need to understand how to pre-sell, especially if a product is costly. There are loads of ebooks available on the Internet, and written eBay Internet marketers that you should read. And there are loads of free information which take longer to research that are available to you.

Unfortunately for you, you fall under the same category as the many eBay failures. Why do people select a product first, invests in it, then expect to sell it. I'll can't possibly guess. You are picking a product that you like, thinking that others will like it too. You must learn how to become an Internet marketer correctly.

Firstly, you need to understand keywords, what products are hot with has less competition. You always start by knowing what products or services are in demand. That's part of the secret. Never get/pay for a product first then try to sell it.

Secondly, you seriously need to get some ebooks to teach how to sell of eBay better. The reason why your product didn't sell is because it was not well thought out. So stop what you are doing and redirect your thinking. Its time to go back to the drawing board and learn the right way. You need a better plan.

Go to my blog. You should find the answers there. And by the way, the featured is about a new software tool for newbies to automatically create professional eBay stores in minutes. But there is a lot more that this tool can do to help you succeed. Seek and you shall find my friend. Take a look at the entire blog. There is content there that should be of interest to you.

Take Care!

Hi there, yes this is exactly how eBay works, but you are referring to the insertion fees for the sales page. The final valuation fee applies when you have successfully sold the item. Now there is a company out there that has actually made it possible to list all your items incluse the first picture for free. The page has worldwide exposure and a live currency conversion for those that do not live in the country of the seller. With no startup or better no upfront cost a perfect place to start an online business. A lot of former PowerSeller have moved already. See more: http://my.dubli.com/4769

You can re-list an item once you have it in your possession that you have bought, but if someone wanted it bad enough to pay more then you did for it, don't you think they would have won it and not you? You can try it but remember it is not worth it many times and you will more then likely lose money on the whole ordeal
