Once again, in my quest for a new computer, I have come across some parts, that might make a whole system. Will these make a complete system (I already have monitor, mouse, keyboard, and Operating System) ?

I am worried that I will order these parts, and then have them be incompatible.

I have followed Doug B's advice and decided not to get a Celeron, but the systems he gave weren't fast enough in the speed department.

Will this system work, or will it just be a pile of parts?

Just get them to through anouther 512Mb RAM in should still be under $400

As you can see from this chart AMD's GHz do not correspond to the AMD they processor I recommended was faster that this Pentium check out the chart. The AMD 3500 would kick the A55 of a Intel 3.5GHz processor.

You are not providing enough informations for me, a systems anylist to determine if your hardware will work. Yes you have the main items, but are they all ibm compatible parts? As for celeron always buy intel you will never have a problem....what is it that you are concerned about with your hardware...what kind of motherboard do you have, how much ram do you have, do you have all the cables, if you have all ibm compatible parts there should not be a problem...please give more info... do you have windows xp home, do you have all the drivers for every piece of hardware that you have, do you have compatible ram (it must match or be compatible with the serial number on your ram). What speed or mhz is the motherboard, there are too many questions unanswered to respond to this question. Take care Heather

Have you ever built a computer before?

I suggest you hit some tag sales first and find something that works and you can practice on before you spend the money to do this. Or even find a recent computer and upgrade it..........
