Landmark Legal Foundation Nominates Rush Limbaugh for 2007 Nobel Peace Prize

Limbaugh called 'the foremost advocate for freedom and democracy in the
world today'

LEESBURG, Va., Feb. 1 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Landmark Legal
Foundation today nominated nationally syndicated radio talk show host Rush
Limbaugh for the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize.
Limbaugh, whose daily radio show is heard by more than 20 million
people on more than 600 radio stations in the United States and around the
world, was nominated for the prestigious award for his "nearly two decades
of tireless efforts to promote liberty, equality and opportunity for all
humankind, regardless of race, creed, economic stratum or national origin.
These are the only real cornerstones of just and lasting peace throughout
the world," said Landmark President Mark R. Levin.
"Rush Limbaugh is the foremost advocate for freedom and democracy in
the world today," explained Levin. "Everyday he gives voice to the values
of democratic governance, individual opportunity and the just, equal
application of the rule of law -- and it is fitting that the Nobel
Committee recognize the power of these ideals to build a truly peaceful
world for future generations."
The Nobel Peace Prize, which is given by a committee of the Norwegian
Storting (the Norwegian Parliament), was created by inventor Alfred Nobel
in his will in 1896 to be given to the individual or organization who
"shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations,
for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding of
peace congresses." The first Nobel Peace Prize was awarded in 1901 to Henry
Dunant and Frederic Passy.
Should Limbaugh become the 2007 Nobel Laureate for Peace, he will
receive the Nobel Peace Prize medal and a cash award of $10 million
Norwegian Kroner (approximately $1.6 million). The prize would be presented
at a ceremony in the Oslo City Hall presided over by King Harald V and
Queen Sonja of Norway on December 10, 2007, the anniversary of Alfred
Nobel's death. As the 2007 Nobel Laureate for Peace, Limbaugh would deliver
the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize Lecture at that ceremony.
Founded in 1976, Landmark Legal Foundation is the leading conservative
public interest law firm in the United States. Rush Limbaugh serves as an
unpaid member of Landmark's Board of Advisors.

What I think about the information is that I challenge Mr. Tutu and blast him for cohorting with these terrorists and enticing public opinion to do the same. His strategy is only causing more bloodshed, and I call for his name to put out in public court for accountability. If I had a chance to talk to him, that's what I would say. 1) Blockades happen when nations are at war. It is a legitimate defense of nations. Dozens of countries have done similar maneuvers when they are at war. In fact, there was a significant blockade on Jewish people in Jerusalem in the 1948 war. Arabs do not get to do blockades then cry when it is done to them. Blockades are better than bombs, it saves lives. The alternative to blockades are bombs and bloodshed. Is Mr. Tutu a warmonger or a peacemaker? 2 )Mr. Tutu had his mind made up before he came. I wouldn't have met with him either. Which airport did he fly into they should have blockaded him from going there too. He doesn't have entitlement to use Israel soil for these purposes. Israel was too hospitable to him. 3) Mr. Tutu fails to admit that UN was formed for bettering civilizations thru agricultural help etc, not a continued handout. Both Palestinian and Israeli societies have had EQUAL opportunity to make the best of themselves and one did and one didn't. The Israelis not only left Gaza for them, but also left greenhouses in which they could grow produce. The Palestinians looted their own greenhouses by their own hands. The Palestinian gov't has the majority responsibility to care for its people and the rest of the world is only responsible to limit the amount of most severe suffering by average people and those needs are being met. For Mr. Tutu to suggest Israel is responsible and the Palestinian Hamas are not responsibile for their own people is ludicrous. Hamas was democratically elected and then they took all of Gaza by their own seige. These people are best left to suffer the consequences of their actions Mr. Tutu. 4) Mr Tutu fails to admit that this is a socio-culture issue stemming from radical Arab and Islamic religious extremism. If he really wanted to help these people he would help them with that. Now regarding Jimmy Carter, he has a nice smile (those teeth!) Nobody likes him that I have spoken with. They like his successor, Reagan. Now that man was a President and a Peacemaker and he was tough. He didn't bow to terrorism either. He ended the Cold War without firing a shot

Wow...is there no criteria for this prize any longer?
Didn't Jimmy Carter win it for his outstanding efforts in kissing the terrorists' asses during the hostage crisis for 14 months?
Have they no concept of reality - or are they living in the idealistic world of the far left?
I don't believe a nomination necessarily means it will be accepted - so there's still a glimmer of hope.

There is no way that Rush will ever get a Nobel peace prize for anything . If he ended the war brought peace on earth and end all illnesses world wide he would still not receive an award .

Heck, if Yassar Arafat and Jimmy Carter can win it, why not nominate Osama Bin Laden? It makes about as much sense.
